Reyes Scores Winner as Harpos FC Stays Top of the Table

BOULDER, CO — Marco Reyes delivered when it mattered most, burying a 73rd-minute winner to give Harpos FC a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Colorado Storm FC at the Boulder Valley Soccer Complex on Saturday evening. The result keeps Harpos FC firmly atop the Colorado Premier League table with six matches remaining in the regular season.

Alejandro Cruz opened the scoring in the 31st minute, cutting in from the left flank and curling a low shot past Storm keeper Dmitri Volkov to give the home side a deserved half-time lead. The goal was Cruz's ninth of the campaign and extended his run to five goals in his last six appearances.

Colorado pulled level through a Marcus Webb header in the 58th minute following a corner kick that caught Harpos FC's backline momentarily flat-footed. The equalizer jolted the visitors into life, and a tense twenty-minute spell followed in which Jordan Pierce was called upon twice to keep the scores level, producing a sharp point-blank save from Webb that drew gasps from the sold-out crowd.

Reyes, who entered as a second-half substitute in the 62nd minute, settled the contest with a composed left-footed finish from the edge of the penalty area. Collecting a pass from midfielder Tomás Ibáñez, he took one touch to control the ball and drove his shot low and into the far corner — his 19th goal of the season in all competitions.

Coach Elena Navarro praised the character of the performance in her post-match press conference, pointing to Pierce's distribution and the midfield's ability to recycle possession under pressure as key factors.
